Sean: “It’s a strong year for comedies with a remarkable set of nominees. That said, I’m not without my complaints.

DON’T MISS:  Harrison Wells revealed in of next week's episode of 'The Flash'

The strangest snub I can think of is that The Last Man on Earth received nominations for Best Actor, Best Directing, and Best Writing but wasn’t nominated for this category. It’s frustrating that Jane the Virgin has been snubbed considering it has some of the sharpest comedic writing; where House of Cards and Downton Abbey are both overwrought melodramas and hide it by being “prestige dramas,” Jane the Virgin has been gleefully upfront of its soapy roots and gets snubbed as a result.”

Kim: “No The Big Bang Theory? The cynic in me is already proclaiming another win for Modern Family’s dynasty.

I think The Last Man on Earth was snubbed because it wasn’t a consistently good watch when viewed week-by-week. It dragged in the middle and transformed into a typical suburban sitcom worthy of a multi-camera set-up. Great individual episodes, slightly underwhelming as a serial. It’s definitely better as a binge-watch.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’s well-deserved nomination is a slap to the face of NBC (which is good).”
