Supporting Actress

Drama Supporting Actress AMC

  • Uzo Aduba as Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren on Orange is the New Black
  • Christine Baranski as Diane Lockhard on The Good Wife
  • Emilia Clarke as Danaerys Targaryen Game of Thrones
  • Joanne Froggatt as Anna Bates Downton Abbey
  • Lena Headey as Cersai Lannister on Game of Thrones
  • Christina Hendricks as Joan Harris on Mad Men

Sean: “Perhaps the most surprising thing about this year’s Emmys is that Maggie Smith isn’t nominated; maybe the Emmy voters have noticed that she largely got nominations for existing? Also surprising is that Lorraine Toussaint’s universally acclaimed run as Vee in Orange is the New Black was ignored by the Emmy voters. Finally, January Jones may not be the strongest actress, but damn was she good in the final run of Mad Men.

The change in categories for Orange is the New Black most benefited Uzo Aduba as her storyline was definitely more dramatic than comedic in season two, and allowed her to show more range; it also allows her the unique opportunity to be the only performer to win in both comedy and drama for playing the same character.”

DON’T MISS:  Guy Ritchie is too cool for school in 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.'

Kim: “Crazy Eyes is my favorite non-Ruby Rose character on Orange is the New Black so I’m glad to see she’s back. The expansion of her role definitely helped. I have to agree about Betty Francis. January Jones was sadly inconsistent throughout Mad Men but she was on fire like the rest of the cast for its final season. ”
