Some of the Different Faces of AsiaPOP Comicon 2016

Geeks and fans gathered in the recently-concluded AsiaPOP Comicon Manila 2016 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay, Philippines. In what may seem to be the largest testament to Filipino geekdom, casual and costumed fans alike crossed the boundaries of comics, board games, television series and video games.

The three-day event had its own share of highlights. There were meets-and-greets, photo-ops, lines for autographed merchandise and commissions, competitions, and more. Booths themselves held surprises for those who came, and the mysterious Hall M was a Marvelous delight for fans. But no convention is complete with the presence of fans, volunteers and exhibitors from all walks of geekdom.

Here are just some of the many faces of attendees, exhibitors and guests from APCC 2016. There are thousands more of cosplayers, fans and creators that have attended the event. However, the emotions from just some of these attendees is enough to tell that APCC 2016 was not simply a blast – it was the blast.

For a first-timer such as myself, I have never seen a convention so breathtaking and immersive. I have been to my own fair share of conventions, but APCC 2016 just makes every buck spent worth it. And with the stories carried by these attendees, it seems there really is much more than meets the eye.

What other stories will next year’s APCC uncover?
