Gabbin’ with Genji: A Gaku Space Interview

Fun and Games

Genji Shimada was essentially a superhero in the world of Overwatch. Gaku Space also played a Western superhero in the past. He voiced the hot-headed Japanese mutant Sunfire in the action RPG, X-Men: Destiny. He would love to reprise the role Sunrise on any future live-action movies featuring that hot-headed X-man. Sadly, he didn’t have any upcoming geek related projects. Those who want more of Gaku Space can look forward to a few HBO projects in the future.

Surprisingly, Gaku space didn’t really play video games. He’s waiting for the perfect opportunity for someone to teach him how to play a mean Genji. He’s not much of a singer or a dancer either. He’d gladly leave the singing to K-pop fans. He was a little more open to dancing, as long as a young fan in the audience would demonstrate Genji’s dance emote for him. Although the kid couldn’t perform, Gaku Space acknowledged the difficulty of the cyborg’s dance. It only took a lot of prodding from Symmetra’s voice actor, Anjali Bhimani, for him to dance for their viral dance video.

Gaku Otaku

Gaku space did admit to being somewhat of an otaku. He was a huge fan of Weekly Shonen Jump. He regularly watched Dragonball Super live and reads Hunter x Hunter, Kinnikuman, and Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure! Imagine what Gaku Space would look like doing a Stand pose!

Gaku Space was no stranger to traveling the world and he was well versed in culture shock. He knew no English when he first traveled to the USA and had to live in a hostel for a few weeks. It was only when he saw two muscle bound men kiss in the parks of Los Angeles did Gaku Space truly realize that he was in America. The Philippines was also an enjoyable place to visit for Gaku Space. He was able to visit the historic walled city of Intramuros and Fort Santiago. Naturally, he tried sinigang, adobo, and balut!

Knowing that most of those who came to see him were huge Overwatch fans, Gaku Space asked his audience what their mains were. Many were Genji mains. There were a couple of Hanzo mains who were curious about Genji being alive. Gaku Space assured them that Genji forgave his older brother. Mercy mains were plentiful and he had a whole harem of them during one meet and greet. Mei, Roadhog, Lucio, Ana, and Reinhardt all were shown some love. A lucky D.Va cosplayer got a special treat. It was truly a great weekend to be a fan of Overwatch!
